Overview

Mokpo Newport Terminal is the first-ever private investment project of port development in Korea, aiming to build a pivotal port in the country’s southeastern region to support adjacent industrial parks in the Mokpo area and to help prepare for rapid increase in cargo volume to be transported to and from China. Following the 2000 signing of the concession agreement, operation began on June 1, 2004.

Currently, we are witnessing the construction of Mokpo Cluster, the epicenter of Northeast Asia’s business, logistics, tourism and administration that is designed to cater to global demands. And at the heart of the Cluster, we have Mokpo Newport Terminal, Northeast Asia’s hub port for international trade.

Mokpo Newport Terminal, young and fresh in every respect, offers perfect natural conditions that allow 24-7-365 entrance and clearance. Situated on the central axis that connects Korea, China and Japan, the Port is proud of its vast port facilities and is emerging as the largest, and the most important, trade port in the Mokpo area’s adjacent industrial parks, such as Daebul National Industrial Complex, Samho Regional Industrial Park, and Sapjin Regional Industrial Park.

Bulk Cargo Service

Mokpo Newport Terminal makes sure it continuously develops cargo-handling technology and modernizes equipment to help process cargo with safety and promptitude, satisfying the ever-changing needs of our customers. Container Service

Mokpo Newport Terminal has opened its Korea-Japan regular route for the first time in 108 years since the opening of the Port of Mokpo. The Port is equipped with state-of-the-art SI system, outstanding manpower, and efficient equipment operation system, all of which is to ensure the Port is growing as a multi-purpose, multi-functional port that enables the most efficient and cost-effective container cargo loading and unloading services, with safety and speed guaranteed.

Adjoining Lot Hinterland Development / Sale in lot (Treeport)

Treeport, which is the lots that adjoin Mokpo Newport Terminal, amounts to 180,000 pyeong (or 595,041.3 m²) and includes sections for logistics and distribution facilities, housing facilities and community amenities. It is developed as a self-sufficient new maritime city.

- Port Support Functions: The section for logistics and distribution facilities is already in operation by C& International Logistics Center. The sections is supporting full operation of port facilities, with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co., Ltd.’s steel yard, shipbuilding equipment plant, and automobile studios/stations, factories and warehouses in place.
- Self-Sufficient New Maritime City: Treeport is self-sufficient with residential areas capable of accommodating 2,500 households and with a host of nearby amenities including business areas, public facilities, schools, etc.
