
President Mr. Park Yun-su Appointed CEO Halla Group (CEO: Mr. Chung Mong-won) has jointly founded an auto parts company with the Canadian firm Stackpole Ltd. Halla Engineering and Construction Corporation’s President Mr. Kim Hong-du and Halla Concrete’s President Mr. Lee Heung-taek got together at the Halla Sigma Tower on the 24th to meet with the CEO Mr. Bob Willig of the world-renowned Canadian auto parts manufacturer Stackpole to sign an agreement to jointly found an auto parts firm Halla Stackpole Co., Ltd. The total of 37.2-billion-won-capital new auto parts firm has a share portfolio of 49 percent, or 18.2 billion won, owned by Halla Engineering and Construction; 30 percent, or 11.2 billion won, by Stackpole; and 21 percent, or 7.8 billion won, by Halla Concrete. Halla Stackpole, as holding a general meeting of stockholders and a board of directors meeting in a row all on the same day, appointed Mr. Park Yun-su (age 53 years) as CEO and President of the start-up. Mr. Park previously served as vice president of Mando Machinery Corporation, Halla Engineering and Construction, and Bowater Halla Paper. Halla Stackpole plans to commence construction of its 40,000㎡ plant within Ochang Science and Industrial Complex in Chungbuk in early April and to have it completed by late September 2008, thereby launching full-scale production of carrier, backing plate, speed sensor, etc. that are used in auto transmission and engine systems.
